Delusional Claim to a Dictionary Word
11 July 2024
Imagine waking up one day and deciding that you, and only you, have the rights to a basic English word like "young". That's the kind of bold, brain-melting arrogance that makes you question if some business folks skipped basic vocabulary class.
This particular outfit thought their skincare trademark gave them dibs on young.com, a domain snapped up years before they even bothered to file paperwork. Because, obviously, no one else in the world could possibly want a short, snappy name for youth-related stuff, right? Wrong.
Their argument boiled down to "it must be about us", ignoring the fact that "young" applies to everything from puppies to wine. It's like claiming monopoly on "happy" because you sell smiles in a bottle. The sheer lack of self-awareness is comedy gold.
If this is the pinnacle of their strategic thinking, one has to wonder how they navigate daily life without mistaking their reflection for a competitor. Next time, maybe invest in a dictionary instead of legal fees.
